My Thoughts For The Week: Can Life Get Any Better?
I can say the start of 2008 has been a great start. I'm maturing so much =, even though I've always been told that I act older than my age. I'm at a point in my life where I'm making very positive decisions and doing big things. In the summer I'll be spending my entire summer interning in New York with the University of Dreams program while working with Creative Jenius Agency. Now only will I be interning with a record label, I'll be commuting to work with my CJA fam.This will be my first time going to NY so I want to make the best out of my stay there, I want to see Harlem, Brooklyn, The Bronx,Queens and Manhattan; I want to see it all!! These 2 months can change my life and once my summer adventure is complete I'll be starting another new chapter in my life; Transferring to Morgan State in Baltimore. It will be a big move for me because I'm not use to being away from my family for a long period of time, but I know its for a good reason and it will be the only way for me to grow and make it out into the world. All I can say is that I'm blessed and I wont let these opportunities slip away.

I was not born in Paris, France I was born in Michigan, I was not an art major for 25 years and I havent been working professionally since 1983 after traveling for 27 years. I a young photographer that has always been into art and enjoys creating stories with my images. I first decided to pick up a camera at the end of 2005 an
have been doing my best to to learn the ins and outs of this business every since. So to sum it up, I take pictures because I enjoy it. I see where some photographers go by certain rules and techniques when it comes to photography and they ask me why dont I do the same. The answer is I dont want to, since when were their rules to art? Who is to say what you can paint on your canvas?..

Born in the Bronx, Jayms spent her formative years with her grandparents in Jamaica where her love of music began. While most accredit previous recording stars as their early musical influence, you almost can't be too surprised that Jayms' musical beginnings are as untraditional as her namesake. "In Jamaica I didn't really listen to a lot of [mainstream] music, but I did have some tapes my grandmother sent me from America." "Disney Princesses" she reveals, "Snow White, Cinderella, those are the first voices I heard that made me want to sing". Jayms soon started writing poetry to assist in her childhood amusements; she began pairing the soliloquies with melodies, and ended with composed songs which she would sing for any and every ear available. As she grew older, Sleeping Beauty and Princess Ariel were joined by the likes of Brandy, Destiny's Child & Prince to round off her revered list of respecters.
A recent high school graduate and fresh out of the Choir Academy of Harlem, it seems as if Jayms' turn has indeed arrived. With a growing resume that already boasts collaborations with some of urban music's industry elite, Jayms can be found credited for recording alongside Badboy headstar Diddy, being featured on Jay-Z's American Gangster" concept album & penning lyrics for the upcoming Taylor Dane project.
